Koraput District Administration officers crossed River in Kotia to reach the unreached in Cyclone Day Today

Beyond the Border, Beyond the River: Odisha’s Message to Kotia — “We Care, We Stand With You”
Amid Cyclone Arnab, Koraput administration crosses a river to deliver relief to remote border villagers, reaffirming Odisha’s commitment to its people in Kotia.
In Kotia, where every act of governance carries significance beyond the immediate needs of the people, a relief operation amid Cyclone Arnab has sent a powerful message: Odisha stands with its people, especially when they need it the most.
Acting on the directions of the Collector and District Magistrate Koraput, Shri. Manoj Satyawan Mahajan, Sub-Collector Fabi Rasheed, accompanied by Tahasildar Debendra Dharua, OSD Kotia Saurav Dash, Additional Tahasildar Swagatika Rout and other field officials, visited remote border villages, including Neredivalsa, Jhakarvalsa and Talasembi.
The team went door to door, distributing dry ration and polythene sheets to needy families as adverse weather conditions threatened to disrupt daily life.
The defining moment came near Jhakarvalsa, where the officials crossed a river to reach villagers and deliver relief. It was more than a field visit; it was a demonstration of administration reaching beyond geographical barriers to stand beside people in a difficult hour.
For Kotia, a sensitive border region of Odisha, the presence of the administration has a significance that goes beyond the distribution of essential supplies. It reinforces the relationship between the people and the state through direct engagement, public service and timely assistance.
The villagers appreciated the administration’s efforts, recognising the importance of support during the cyclone.
In Kotia, the strongest message is often delivered not through words, but through presence. When officials cross a river to reach a family in need, governance becomes tangible and public service acquires a deeply human meaning.
As Cyclone Arnab tests preparedness on the ground, the Koraput administration’s outreach conveys a simple message to the people of the border villages: You are not forgotten. Odisha cares. Odisha stands with you.
