Mental health of Children is a Key Factor for Development

A workshop was organised at DPSS , Berhampur on 10th June-2026 with its teachers on Strengthening mental health in Children and facilitating wellbeing of Children & teachers . I was fortunate to be the facilitator in the workshop in a school which was concerned for the wellbeing of children in reality . The day had begun with Inauguration of Curiosity Corner : The mini Library for kindergarten in presence of Director , principal & staff of the school where tiny hands will open to know the big world.

With the inspiring teachers of the school we discussed on the role of mind , its work , possibility , its relation with the body and most importantly what are the factors responsible for affecting work of mind in the children and adults aswell . While drawing the link between the reason of our existence to setting the right goal and objective of the life we discussed on the interlink among Mental health , Physical Health , Emotional health and Social health . Mental health of children would not be strengthened without addressing other three health mentioned above . The enthusiastic teachers worked in groups collating the individual learning and understanding on the issue for a collective output offering a direction for the better mental health of children .

After series of brainstorming exercises each group had presented their findings on the subject and presented before the other groups to explore possibilities of betterment of their group work . Each group had shared excellent and valuable inputs on the stage .

As the output of the workshop the teachers with a spirit of love & care for the children came up with a list of dos and donts for themselves while being with the children and ensuring better mental health of them in and outside the classroom .

I extend my gratitude to Director Madam , Principal Sir for giving me the opportunity and all the teachers of the school for effectively participating in the interactive workshop while keeping the goal at one point : Development of Children .
