World Environment Day Observed in Koraput District

World Environment Day was celebrated in Koraput district by the district administration and various NGOs in different parts of the district . Trekking was organised by Department of Forests at Putsil and in the Pine Resort at Koraput to mark the occasion . Prakruti Mitra and Prakruti Bandhu Awards were shared with persons who had given great efforts in promoting better environment in the district .  SOVA , Koraput celebrated the day by planting trees at ASTHA Children Home, Koraput in presence of  Smt. Babita Patro, Chairperson, OSCPCR and other dignitaries . Pragati, Koraput celebrated the day in Kotpad block by organising a traditional seed mela . Similarly M.S.Swaminathan Foundation organised a Seed mela in its campus at Jeypore today . On the other hand a meeting was organised by the people affected by mines and proposed mines in Koraput and other districts at Semiliguda to share the misery of people on the face of degrading environment .
